Description

This beautiful two bedroom and two and a half bathroom villa has lots of updates! The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped with everything your family needs. The living room and dining areas have been tastefully updated and feature wood floors throughout with the living room providing a slider to the private balcony. The Primary suite consists of a king bed, flat screen tv and private sitting area with a built-in wine cooler. The en-suite and spacious Primary bathroom has a double vanity and tiled walk-in shower. The guest bedroom consists of a queen bed with TV. The guest bathroom has been updated with a tiled tub and shower combination. Located within the Shelter Cove Harbour section of Palmetto Dunes, the Marina with all of its restaurants, shops and activities will be at your fingertips. This vacation rental is pet-friendly between October 1 through March 31 for an additional charge. No pets are permitted between April 1 through September 30. Our pet policy only allows one dog per rental unit with a maximum weight of 40 pounds. Other restrictions may apply.

Excellent stay. Rode my bike to the beach everyday. If you like to ride bikes, the neighborhood is very large. There is a tunnel to cross under hwy. 278.
The bedrooms and washer/dryer are on the 2nd floor and the stairway is narrow. You must be able to climbs stairs with ease.
I was very happy staying here.

Condo was clean with plenty of supplies and kitchen had everything we needed. We walked to dinner each night which was very convenient. Lovely view and easy access to dining, shopping, etc. Welcome Center personnel were very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again!

The condo is nice with an updated feel. It now has regular steps instead of a spiral, but be careful as the steps are still steep, so older clientele should be aware. We knew about the regular steps but weren't aware of how steep and tight they were until we got there. Some general maintenance needs to be addressed (smell only from kitchen HVAC vent, dust noted within HVAC vents, flickering light in master bath, leaking/rusted handle in master sink, leaking shower head in master). The building is dated, but the property is well maintained, except the elevators which seem to always have at least one down every year we stay (the last 2 years have been the same elevator, which happened to be the one closest to this condo).

We had a 10 day vacation for thanksgiving and stayed in this unit and it was absolutely wonderful. Very clean and nicely decorated. We had thanksgiving dinner in the condo so the kitchen was stocked to meet our needs. Great outdoor sitting area. We tried to reserve this for Christmas but it was already booked. Comfortable quiet and well-appointed and did I mention the central location to all Shelter cove has to offer??? Loved my stay here.thanks for letting us bring our dog!!!

The pros of our stay --
1 - perfect location to walk to restaurants, shops & water activities
2 - very close to a shopping center with grocery store, a local park, more restaurants & shops
3 - in Oct parking at the unit was not a problem and easy drive to the Pickleball courts
4 - Walking around marina/water area was wonderful morning & evening
5 - this was one of the few rentals accepting pets, very grateful
6 - a basic package of bath towels & toiletries, kitchen towels, paper towels, dishsoap & sponge were included
The cons -
1 - I don't think the owners are getting their moneys worth from the cleaning service. There was toothpaste on the master sink, dusty/dirt hanging off the sofa & I wouldn't use the washer because when I opened the door, it was musty with water, gunk & even a penny sitting in the gasket. Please know these weren't deal breakers for me, but I was disappointed and have pics if the owner is interested and I was charged a pretty hefty cleaning fee upon booking. We travel alot & have seen this stuff before, but I thought this was a pricey rental to have these issues.
2 - the wood steps to the second floor are narrow & anyone with mobility issues needs to be cautious, the handrail is solid but I wanted to point that out
3 - during off season you pay a resort fee, but there is no shuttle & trying to park at the Dunes House for beach access was impossible
4 - I signed up for Palmetto Dunes text service but never received one message during our week long stay. On the last day, through another guest, I found out there may have been an "on-call" shuttle we could've used -- it would've been nice to get that info in a text or email.
5 - The listing should state they have a traditional coffee maker. We brought K cups, but found ourselves in the grocery store buying a 50 pack coffee filter (smallest available)& coffee. We left the extras there.
6-The overflow parking is also for people coming

FAQ

Are linens and towels provided with my rental?

Bed linens and bath towels are provided in each rental. A standard supply of towels consisting of two bath towels, one hand towel and one wash cloth per person (not to exceed maximum occupancy). If the rental has a sleeper sofa, linens will be provided for the bed. Towel bundles and additional linens can be provided for a fee. Beach chairs and beach towels are not provided, please do not use home or villa linens as beach blankets.

Can I bring my dog?

Certified Service Animals are permitted year round in Palmetto Dunes with appropriate documentation. Emotional Support Animals and family dogs can stay in pet friendly villas and homes between October 1st and March 31st for an additional fee. Our pet policy only allows 1 dog with a maximum weight of 40 pounds and other restrictions may apply. The pet fee is $200 which is non-refundable. No pets are permitted in any of the vacation rentals between April 1 through September 30.

Can I drive my motocycle or RV in the resort?

No motorcycles, motorized scooters/skateboards of any kind are permitted. No RV’s, campers and trailers of any kind are not permitted in gate areas. Off resort storage arrangements must be made for boats, jet skis and kayaks. Also, no commercial vehicles with any type of company signage or wrapping allowed.

Does a guest visiting me need a parking pass?

Yes, everyone driving a vehicle within the resort will need a parking pass. Parking passes are limited for each villa and home, please call the Front Desk at 888-909-9566 with any questions.

Included with the reservation - One vehicle pass for villas and two vehicle passes for homes.

Depending on the neighborhood/location, there are limitations on the number of additional parking passes that can be ordered.

How much are parking passes and does everyone need a pass?

You can call the afterhours emergency line, available 7:00 pm – 8:00 am at 844-207-8221.

May we check in early?

Check-in begins at 4 p.m. and could last until 6 p.m. Early check-ins are not available. If your vacation rental is ready prior to 4 p.m, the Front Desk will call the telephone number on file. For the guests that have opted in for Contactless Check-in, the door code is activated at 4 p.m.

What fees are included in my reservation?

Resort Fee: Provides for 24 hour security, 1 vehicle pass for villas/2 vehicle passes for homes, seasonal resort transportation and processing costs.

Cleaning Fee: Your rental is cleaned and inspected prior to your arrival and upon your departure. Additional housekeeping, such as a mid-stay clean or towel exchange can be arranged for an additional fee. Please call the Front Desk at 888-909-9566 with any questions.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy- Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to arrival by Guest for villa/condominium rentals and 60 days or more
prior to arrival for private home rentals, will receive a refund of any deposit paid, less an administrative fee of $75.00. Any other cancellation
on the part of the Guest will result in the forfeiture of any and all deposits or payments, which will be retained by the Agent and Owner as
liquidated damages.
Guest agrees that if the premises are made unavailable due to circumstances beyond Agent's control, including but not limited to damage or
change of ownership, Agent shall make its best efforts to make available substitute accommodations. If for any reason substitute
accommodations cannot be secured on behalf of Guest, Agent's liability shall not be greater than the amount of Guest monies and deposits
held by Agent in respect to Guest's reservation set forth in this agreement. Guest may not sublet or assign this Rental Agreement without the
express written consent of Agent.

Where do we check in if the Welcome Center is closed?

If you will be checking in after business hours, you will be assigned a locker in the After Hours Check-in Area. The lockers are located adjacent to the front door of the Welcome Center and signage will direct you to the location. Your Welcome Packet will contain your car pass, door code and other resort information. A cell phone number and email address will be needed by all guests checking in to the resort. A locker will be assigned to each guest arriving after hours. A pass code will be given to access the locker. For guests that know ahead of time that they will be arriving late, please email frontdesk@palmettodunes.com.

Where do we check in?

Check-in is at the Front Desk in Welcome Center located at 4 Queens Folly Road, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29928. Check-in begins at 4 p.m. and could go until 6 p.m. Contactless Check-in, for the guests that have opted in, can bypass physical check-in at the Front Desk. Your Welcome Packet contains car pass(s), door code and other resort information – the door code in the packet is activated at 4 p.m.

Why are there restrictions with the spa and pool heat?

The spas and pools can be heated June through October for an additional fee. The date parameters are part of the rental agreement we have with the owners. The heat pump that is used in the private homes pulls the air from the outside and uses that to heat the pool, it does not generate heat. During the fall, winter and spring the temperatures usually dip below 50 degrees and essentially make the heater unusable. An additional fee of $150 will be applicable for last minute requests (within 3 weeks of arrival) last minute spa/pool heat request may result in a special trip charge.

Will I have access to a swimming pool?

Each villa neighborhood within Palmetto Dunes has a swimming pool. You will have access to the pool(s) in the neighborhood of your villa. Due to occupancy limitations, you are only allowed to use the neighborhood pool in which you are staying. If you are staying in a private home, you will have access to that spa and pool only.
